Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Xavier Carr
Hi everyone! My name is Xavier Trice Carr. I am originally from New Bern, North Carolina. This will be my third year teaching third grade. Before teaching third grade, I taught second grade for 6 years in Eastern, North Carolina. I graduated from North Carolina Central University in Durham North Carolina with a degree in Elementary Education. Later, I received a Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction, with a focus on English Language Learners from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon.
I love sports. I played volleyball in college and ran track and field for 13 years. I am a fan as well. I enjoy watching any sport, but my favorite to watch is football. My favorite team is none other than the Charlotte Panthers! I spend a lots of time with my family– especially my daughter, Leigha. I have one brother who lives in Stuttgart, Germany and my mother who still resides in New Bern, North Carolina with her poodle, Brutus.
I am thrilled to be teaching third grade this year and working with you and your child. This is a very special year in your child’s school career. Third grade is a time to experience important transitions and acquire lots of new skills in which they will need and use later in life.
If I were a student at Millbrook...
I would look forward to exploring the outdoors and nature, because of "Environmental Connections" aspect of our school!
