Degrees and Certifications:
I was born and raised in New Jersey just outside of New York City. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology from what is now known as The College of New Jersey. I completed my Masters degree in Counseling at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. For many years I worked in Mental Health as a Therapist working with adolescents and families. In 2005 I began working as a School Counselor with Wake County Schools. I've been working at Mary Phillips High School since 2011 and consider this to be the best job I have ever had.
Outside of school I own a farm in Chatham County. I raise sheep to sell for meat and also raise chickens and have a donkey named Emily. I grow much of the food that I eat in a large garden that I maintain with my wife Lynda. I've been a runner most of my life and play basketball whenever I can. For over the past 20 years I have practiced Mindfull Meditation. During this Spring semester I began teaching a Mindful Meditation class here at Phillips High School and will continue to teach this class as long as I work here.
I have two children who are both in college that I am very proud of. My wonderful wife Lynda works as an administrator at the Woldorf School, a private school in Chapel Hill.
