Ms. Christine Williams

Hello, My name is Christine Williams.  I earned my Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina A&T State University in Social Studies Education, and a Master’s Degree in School Administration from NC State University.

I came to Phillips in 1988, then called Central Wake Optional.  Phillips serves students who need a smaller, more personal environment in order to grow academically..  I was a classroom teacher ,  Curriculum Writer , served on the Leadership Team, Teacher Mentor , Mentor Coordinator, Department Chair,  Testing Coordinator and Coordinator for the Extended Day Program.    Along with teaching, I worked with an Educational Consulting Firm where I  had the opportunity to travel around the country  making  presentations at Conventions  and professional trainings.  While working with this agency I contributed lesson plans to the online sites, “Slavery In America”  and “Jim  Crow History.”  These sites went public for use by teachers across the country.  .    I am most proud of taking the lead  in planning  our Annual Multi-Cultural Festival

I retired in 2015  after 34 years in education, 26 of them at Phillips.    I have returned to Phillips on a part-time basis and serve as the Coordinator for our Food Pantry , and  Test Coordinator.  Overtime I have had the pleasure of watching hundreds if students walk across the stage and receive their diplomas, an accomplishment that many thought they would never achieve.  It is one of my greatest joys.
