Fourth Grade Track 2
I am western New York native that has moved to the nice warm, sunny South! I was born and raised in Jamestown, NY, a city about 75 miles south of Buffalo, NY. While living up north I substituted in various school districts to gain more experience and attended college at SUNY Fredonia to earn both my bachelor's in Elementary Education and my master's in Literacy Instruction). After visiting NC and returning to the cold winter of western New York, I realized that the South was for me. I moved here in June 2005 and although I miss my family, I love every minute of living here! In November 2010, I earned my National Board Certification in Literacy.
For my first 11 years in teaching, I was in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. When I was there I taught ESL (English as a Second Language), 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades along with small group reading.
After becoming in December 2015 to my fiance Evan, we decided for me to make the move to Wake County to be closer to his family. Even though I have only been here a short while, I found that I love Wake County! We are now married and have a hypervigilant Parson Russell Terrier named Rudy at our newly purchased house in Fuquay Varina.
This is my second year in fourth grade on Track 2 here at OCE. I love everything about being a Clipper and excited to work with everyone!
