Hello, and welcome to Fourth Grade! I have been a part of the Ballentine family since my son began Kindergarten here in 2004. Since that time, I have enjoyed many different roles: a parent volunteer, a long-term substitute, a technology assistant, a CCR assistant, and I'm now in my fourth year of teaching 4th Grade. My earliest experiences at Ballentine kindled within me a joy for teaching that sent me back to NC State to earn certification and an M.A. in Elementary Education. I am convinced that teaching children is my passion and life purpose and I absolutely love going to work every day!
My husband and I moved to Fuquay-Varina from Southern California twenty years ago. We met and married while undergraduate students in the College of Engineering at the University of California, Riverside. At UCR, I earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Biochemistry. When our two children were young, I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom and those are years that my heart treasures. They are (too) quickly growing up. This year, Gabel begins his freshman year at Clemson University and Caroline is a junior at FVHS. They both play multiple sports, and that has kept our family very busy. We also have a corn snake at home and a three-year-old Jack Russell Terrier named Scout. He goes on 25 mile runs with my husband on Sunday afternoons, while I take a nap. :)
