I grew up in Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's of Teaching. I moved to Raleigh after I graduated and began my teaching career in Wake County. I've taught 4th grade for 13 years and I'm a Nationally Board Certified teacher.
I am passionate about children. I chose to be a teacher so that I could make a positive impact in the lives of children. I believe in a growth mindset. I believe all children can learn and be successful.

I am originally from Albany, New York and moved down here 12 years ago to start my teaching career. I graduated from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY with a degree in Psychology and Elementary Education, with a dual certification in childhood and special education. I am AIG certified as well as have my Masters Degree in Special Education from ECU. In my career, I spent seven years teaching 5th grade, two years teaching special education, and this is my fourth year teaching 4th grade here at BCES.
I am passionate about teaching! I am lucky enough to say that I absolutely love what I do and could never picture myself doing anything else. I am passionate about helping children discover a love of learning that will hopefully last much further beyond my classroom.
I graduated from Western Michigan University in May 2016 then moved to North Carolina within a week after. I started working at Brier Creek Elementary last year and completed my first year as a teacher this past June.
I am passionate about ultimate frisbee, and disc golf. Both of these sports I will play when I have free time.

I grew up in upstate New York, went to college in Minnesota, got my first teaching job in California, and finally moved to North Carolina to teach at Brier Creek. Since joining the staff in 2008, I have taught 3rd, 1st, and 4th grades. I have a B.A. in elementary education from Gustavus Adolphus College and a master's degree in Reading and Language Arts Education from the State University of California, Los Angeles.
I am mostly passionate about books--reading them, sharing them, and even writing them! My favorite time of each day is when I get to read aloud to my class.
